About Pictures

I've decided to go back and start marking which entries have pictures posted incase people want to browse. I'm marking the entries with pictures (P), with videos (V), and slideshows (S). Some of the slideshows won't work from this site after I change the title but you can still see the slideshow by clicking on "view all images".

Our busy weekend (P)

My Friend Amy and her boys came to play on Thursday. Even though the kids played well at first, the afternoon did end with Haylie's teeth on Masons arm.

moving on... My department outing. Careful, don't drink the water at work unless your ready to change lots if diapers and lose lots of sleep.

Finally Riverboat Days Festival

So you wonder why I'm up so late loading pictures on to the Internet. Well I tell you, Brady slept from 9pm until 7:30am yesterday last night!!!

The Busiest Week of the Year (V)

Everything always seem to be going on the last week/weekend of July. I'm off work because my daycare lady is on vacation and all my back up babysitters are busy. Tommy's mom is in Mongolia on a missions trip and my parents are out in South Dakota (pre-Sturgis Rally because I guess the week/weekend before is just a hair less crazy but still has plenty going on). I don't mind taking the time off to be with the kids but it's hardly a vacation. ;o) My mom and dad will be home tomorrow sometime and then we'll go and visit them for the weekend. There also seem to be a lot of festivals that happen the end of July, including one that we'll get to take Haylie to in my parents home town. I look forward to that. Haylie is finally to that age where things like that are starting to be fun, but of course still work. ;o) It's a great excuse to get out and do things like the parade and the fireman's water fight. Hopefully we won't have to drag a tired little girl to any of the activities just because we really want to go. ;o) We'll be sure to take lots of pictures! Here's a video clip of Haylie singing the ABCs. Not her best version of it because it was of course during dinner, but check it out:

Movie review time!

A friend and I broke away from the kids yesterday and saw Mamma Mia! It was a fun movie that definitely had entertainment value. Pierce Brosnons singing was NOT the highlight but over all I would say it's worth seeing, at least when it comes to video. ;o) I also really want to see WALL-E but it might be a while before I make it to the theater again. The last movie I saw was in June of 2007.

The pitter patter of little feet at 3am...again?!?! (P)

Just as Brady has started sleeping through the night (9 to 5 or 6 sometimes), Haylie has started getting up and trying to work her way into our bed. Almost every night I have to escort her back to her own bed where she'll sometimes even try to get us to sleep with her. I don't know if it's the messed up schedule that we're not keeping her on or my return to work or what. Whatever it is, it leaves me just as tired and dysfunctional as I was a couple of months ago with a newborn. I had a whole bunch of issues sleeping after Haylie was born. For the whole month of July 2006 I got between 4 to 6 hours of sleep a night and it had nothing to with Haylie. Maybe it had to do with hormones after having Haylie, but she was sleeping sound. I remember it just up and vanished the 1st of August. The enemy knows how to keep us on our toes. There is no rest for the wicked even if we're doing the best we can. A common prayer these days is for God to multiple what hours of rest I do get so as to get me through the day without being driven to the funny farm by the kids. Then I can usually fall back to sleep with the peace and confidence that God will do his best. Hey, if anyone can do it, He can!!

Three fourths of the Clan this morning at (or on) the breakfast table.

Alas, some pictures (P)

I thought I would start by adding some pictures. We've been really bad at getting pictures of our family out since it grew.

This is the most recent and decent picture of Tommy and I taken at a wedding Mothers Day weekend.

Here is Miss Haylie driving the "little car" in our driveway. If you don't already know why there is a Black 1996 Dodge Neon sitting in our driveway, don't ask. Unless of course you want to by it. ;o)

This here picture is the reason for the chaos in our lives. The good kind of chaos of course. ;o) This picture was taken right around Bradys 2 month birthday. At his 2 month appt. he weighed 14 lbs. 8 oz. That's more then Haylie weighed at her 4 month. He's a little tank. It's a good thing too because Miss Haylie has been known to whack him once or twice for crying or just being to close to mom. The abuse has ended for the most part and Haylie has really taken a liking to him and him to her. Don't let the scowl fool you, he loves to smile and coo when looked at. Just make sure you keep looking or else you'll hear about it from him.

Stay posted, I'll get some more pictures up.

I can't believe I did it!

I'm blogging! I've heard so much about it and here I am. I'm really not that old or out of the loop, or am I?!?! I'm sure if anyone reads this, and eventually someone will, they'll think I'm a nerd. OK, perhaps I am too old to use that word. ;o)

So what's up with the title? If I was going to post this blog/web log I wanted to give the title meaning and purpose. I'm not an ultra relgious person but if anything in my life is going to be meaningful and have purpose throughout the years, it will be the one thing that does not change...God.

So welcome and enjoy or go somewhere else! ;o)
